Shelling
Sixteen miles of undeveloped shoreline delivers some fantastic shelling. Lucky shellers with patience and a good eye can find everything from sand dollars and Scotch Bonnets to seahorses and shark’s teeth.
The best time to go is low tide in the morning, when you can walk further out and see what the high tide washed ashore overnight. Or make the short boat trip over to nearby, uninhabited Portsmouth Island for even more undisturbed beaches known for superior shelling.
