Blackbeard’s Pirate Jamboree

Come celebrate Ocracoke’s unique pirate history with a weekend of swashbuckling fun. The Jamboree features an historically-accurate pirate encampment and a reenactment of the infamous pirate Blackbeard’s last battle. Interactive living history exhibits, sea shanties, music, and a shopping marketplace of seafaring fine arts and wares provide entertainment for all ages. Schedule as follows:


Friday, Oct. 31, 2025

  • 11 am – Noon: Kevin Duffus talks about the weekend on WOVV 90.1 FM

  • Noon: Kevin signs The Last Days of Black Beard and The Inventor Reginald Fessenden and the Origins of American Radio on North Carolina’s Outer Banks at Books to be Red

  • 2 – 5 pm: Brigands Bazaar vendor fair opens (Berkley Barn grounds)

  • 7 pm: Motley Tones perform (Berkley Barn)

  • 7:30 pm: Showing of an old-fashioned scary movie (Berkley Barn, free)


Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025

  • 9 am: Cannon blast opens Brigands Bazaar & Colonial Village with pirate games, navigation, colonial medicine, cooking, and more

  • 10 am: Pirate parade (Ride the Wind Surf Shop → encampment)

  • 10:30 am: Motley Tones sing strolling in encampment

  • 11 am: Blackbeard reenactment in “his Adventure” at Ocracoke

  • 11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Kevin Duffus talk on Blackbeard’s Head

  • 12:30 pm: Small firearms demo by Leviathan

  • 1 pm: The Shadow Players perform

  • 1:30 – 2:15 pm: Motley Tones perform (Berkley Barn)

  • 2:45 pm: Reenactment of Blackbeard’s Last Stand (NPS docks)

  • 3:30 – 4 pm: Sword Circle demonstrations (Berkley Barn)

  • 4:30 pm: Slideshow on Capt. Horatio Sinbad’s life

  • 5 pm: Annual Blackbeard Pirate & Royal Navy Memorial Service (Berkley Barn)

  • 6 pm: Final cannon blast closes event
